Poetry Reading, 10th November, 1pm, Cupola Gallery

Karen Sherwood at Cupola Gallery Sheffield explains this event:

Poetry and painting are distinct art forms but both have the ability to evoke personal connections to intangible experiences. I believe it is for this reason that artist Alison Tyldesley commissioned three poets to create new poems inspired by her paintings, which in turn are her personal responses to the landscape, in particular the landscape of the Peak district.  These poems were then collected in a book Glancing Light pairing the poems with her paintings.  A selection of these paintings are on display as part of Peaks.

The afternoon will be composed of poetry readings by Paul Carnell and Jenny Donnison and conclude with a Q&A session with the two poets and Alison Tyldesley.  The event will commence at 1pm Saturday 10th November & hospitality will be provided.*

*The event is free and there is no need to book but places will be limited due to space restrictions.  Please do contact us prior to the event if you have any mobility issues. find out more here.
